Image #3- "Color Pencil Portrait" by Uriolus (Oriol Arumi)

Again, I found this piece on Pinterest. I chose this piece because I thought it was so detailed and I was amazed at the fact that the media was color pencil. I thought about how it was not a piece that would usually stick out because it was just a portrait of a man. It doesn't have paint splattered everywhere or abstract meanings. It is a work of art because of the detail, the time spent on the colors and lines to make this as realistic as possible. It reminded me of the readings and film we watched about what made a piece valuable.

Image #2-"Ambition" by Eddie Colla

I found this on Pinterest once again. Like how I do with all the things on my Pinterst boards, I just use all my previous tastes to put new art that I like out there for people to view. Using some of my tastes like print making and graffiti art, I chose it because it is simple (in the graffiti kind of way, not saying it isn't lesser form of art) and difficult to make as well. I was very interested in it because it resonates well with what we haved discussed in class about aesthetics. The artist also shows a woman as the graffiti artist which is different than what I have seen before. When I looked up more work by Eddie Colla, Colla discusses the concept of graffiti art. Colla states that the difference between he does and what advertisers do is that advertisers pay to influence the environment without the audience's consent and he doesn't. I found that this related to our readings about art collectors and the film RIp we watched about downloading music. It raises the questions: Who has the rights to artistic freedom? Why do we give control to society All of which are expressed in the quotes and in the use of a female artist.
